Plywood / Particle board manufacturing process

Particle Board is an agricultural residue based engineered wood . It is manufactured from wood chips, saw dust, bagasse, coconut shell waste, , cotton stalk rice husk and many other agricultural waste with suitable binder resin.

Particle board has been in use since the 1940s, often used in place of the more expensive plywood in furniture manufacturing, building partitions etc .Particle board is also ideal for applications such as photo lamination, packaging box TV cabinets, dressing tables etc.

The process of making particle board begins with Agriculture and wood waste. Most Indian particle board manufacturers use saw dust, wood chips collected from saw mills and other woodworking factories.

Particleboard is manufactured by mixing wood particles or bagasse with resin and forming the mix into a sheet. There are several types of resins that are commonly used. formaldehyde based resins are the best performing when considering cost and ease of use. Urea Melamine resins or phenol formaldehyde resin are used to offer water resistance.
Once the resin has been mixed with the particles, the liquid mixture is made into a sheet. A weighing device notes the weight. The sheets formed are then hot-compressed under pressures between two and three mega pascals and temperatures between 140 °C and 220 °C. This process sets and hardens the glue. The boards are then cooled, trimmed and sanded. They can then be sold as raw board or surface improved through the addition of a wood veneer or laminate  surface.

Raw Material:-
 1-Bagasse        3-Rice Husk          5-Other Agriculture residue.
 2-Saw Dust      4-Coconut Husk    6- Resin

Step 7- Hot Pressing.
Step 8- Edge Cutting.
Step 9- Laminating (If required)

Manufacturing Process

There is huge demand of particle board in India and all over world . Particle board market growing very fast. Due to growing deforestation there is bright future of particle board.

Any entrepreneur can well venture in this project. Setting up of particle board unit will result in the profitable use of agricultural and wood waste, giving employment to local people and bringing in huge profits and happiness. Such units can be established  small to large scale units.

Production Capacity:- (12 Hour/Single Sift) In Square Feet
With Seven daylight Hot Press.
Small Scale Unit      4500- 5000   Square feet.
Medium Scale           7500-8000   Square feet
Large Scale           10000-10500   Square feet

Profit Margin:-
Rs. 1-5 Per square feet. Depend on Raw material rate.
